Unrestricted Support

One of the central forces propelling the campaign—and the University—are those programs that encourage unrestricted giving: the Annual Fund, Sorin Society, and President’s Circle. Each of these related programs has a key role to play:
- The Annual Fund provides an opportunity for the entire Notre Dame family to participate in both the campaign and the daily operations of the University by supporting critical priorities associated with financial aid, global service, academic and student life, Catholic mission, and areas of greatest need.
- The Sorin Society encompasses a core group of benefactors who provide a high level of annual support. Their gifts—made at one of three membership levels (Traditional, Founder’s Circle, and Legacy )—are one of the most important factors in guaranteeing a healthy University operating budget each year.
- The President’s Circle engages directly with the Office of the President. Member contributions provide Fr. John Jenkins, University president, with a pool of funds each year to direct to emerging and strategic priorities of great importance.
The National Phase of the Campaign
During the roughly two years remaining in the seven-year Spirit of Notre Dame campaign, the University will invite all alumni, parents, and friends to participate in the campaign. When the University contacts you, please consider making a generous pledge or gift. Your dollars, be they restricted or unrestricted, will ensure that the distinctive spirit of Notre Dame will touch generations yet to come.
How can I help? All gifts made to the Annual Fund, Sorin Society, or President’s Circle before June 30, 2011, will be counted as contributions toward the Spirit of Notre Dame campaign.
