Eck Law Fellowship Challenge

When he passed away in December 2007, Frank Eck Sr. (’44) left an extraordinary legacy on the Notre Dame campus, including his generous support for the new Eck Hall of Law. Now, even in death, his generosity continues.

Through his estate, Eck designated $5 million for a law fellowship challenge. The Eck estate will match dollar-for-dollar, up to a total of $5 million, each new gift and pledge designated for endowed law fellowships, through December 31, 2009.

A sampling of fellowship endowments that qualify for the Eck Fellowship Challenge includes:

  • Rev. Michael D. McCafferty, C.S.C., Fellowship
  • Professor Edward J. Murphy Fellowship
  • Professor Charles E. Rice Fellowship
  • Patricia A. O’Hara Fellowship
  • Law Class Fellowship Endowments
  • Individual Benefactor Fellowship Endowments

To participate in the Eck Challenge with an online gift, simply type “Law School Gift” in the “Comments” section of the online gift form, and let us know which endowed fellowship you wish your contribution to support. Make your gift now.
