Class of 2008!

Your Senior Class has voted and the results are in! The Senior Class Gift of 2008 is the inaugural gift to the EcoFund. This new fund will advance environmentally responsible and sustainable practices at Notre Dame. The EcoFund will impact initiatives such as energy and water conservation, recycling and the campus ecosystem. In addition, your class is donating one tree to be planted on campus with a plaque to commemorate the senior class of 2008.

It’s never too early to leave a legacy.

The Senior Class Gift is a fundraising campaign led by senior class representatives and the Notre Dame Annual Fund to create a major gift in your class’s name. It’s a great way to give back to Notre Dame and to make a difference in the lives of all those students who will come after you.

What does the Senior Class Gift support?

Each year, seniors vote on the designation of their class fund. Some seniors often choose to create a scholarship fund in their class’s name. However, your class vote demonstrates that the senior class of 2008 feels a responsibility to advocate the principles and live out the practices of energy conservation and environmental stewardship.

While Notre Dame appreciates every gift, it is most in need of unrestricted funds—that is, contributions which are not designated for a specific project but can be used to address the University’s most pressing needs.

The goal of the Senior Class Gift is to have the class collectively support the class fund. However, individual seniors may choose the area to which their gift is directed. This gives you the opportunity to support what is most important to you at Notre Dame, be it your dorm, club, scholarships, study-abroad program, etc.

How much do I have to give?

There is no gift minimum to participate in the Senior Class Gift. The goal is not to raise a specific dollar amount, but to have everyone join together in leaving a class legacy at Notre Dame.

However, if members of the Class of 2008 donate $100 or more by December 31, 2008, they will be eligible to participate in the football ticket lottery for the 2009 season. Please note that all first-time graduates are automatically included in the football ticket lottery in their graduation year—that is, 2008 grads will automatically be eligible for the 2008 lottery.

How can I contribute?

To make a gift, you can respond to the mailing that our Senior Class Gift Committee sent you in March or donate online.
