Ask any of the thousands of Domers who descend on campus each June for Reunion Weekend: Notre Dame isn’t a four-year experience, it’s a lifetime experience.
Leading the Nation. Again.
Notre Dame alums are some of the most loyal and enthusiastic in the nation. They also understand the importance of giving back. The national average for alumni giving to higher education is just 26 percent: last year, Notre Dame alums participated at a rate of 54.3 percent. That’s the highest in Notre Dame’s history. And, among those celebrating a reunion, the rate is even higher.
In fact, alumni celebrating a reunion in 2007 contributed over $23 million to Our Lady’s University—an outstanding act of generosity that represents, not a handful of large gifts, but literally thousands of modest gifts that add up to a big impact on Notre Dame.
Like all gifts to the Notre Dame Annual Fund, your reunion contributions support essential University needs: they provide scholarship assistance for deserving students, purchase new materials for our libraries, and help keep our dorms in great shape.
Show your Class Spirit.
Maximizing alumni participation is the primary goal of Reunion Giving. Making a gift in honor of your reunion is a simple way to show your Notre Dame spirit—and to support current students. Friendly, if vigorous, competition among the various classes celebrating reunions on campus each June has become a hallmark of the program, with the top-performing class being recognized during Reunion Weekend.
In fact, during Reunion years, many alumni choose to increase their support. A considerable number do this by joining the Sorin Society.
How It Works.
Reunion Giving works like this: your class representatives lead a yearlong fundraising effort in the months prior to the June reunion. To participate, alumni celebrating a reunion in 2008 make gifts, or payments on existing pledges, between July 1, 2007, and June 30, 2008.
Virtually every gift, including those to recognition societies, will count toward Reunion Giving participation goals. And, of course, all contributions will count toward eligibility in the football ticket lottery, provided they meet the minimum contribution levels.
Every gift matters. Make yours today.
