Why give to the NDOM Scholarship?

  • You think students should be able to attend Notre Dame based on their talent, not their financial resources.
  • You think changing the life of a student is a pretty good return on investment.
  • You want to give back to Notre Dame, because Notre Dame has given so much to you.
  • You’re celebrating a reunion this year, and you want your class to win the reunion giving challenge.
  • You love Notre Dame.
  • You want to be eligible for the football ticket lottery (a gift of $1,500 or more will increase your odds in the football ticket lottery)

So the real question is, why not give to the Notre Dame Our Mother Scholarship?

Every gift matters. Make yours today.

Meet NDOM Scholar Pavielle Goldman

Pavielle Goldman (’12) is sure to learn a lot over her four years at Notre Dame, but she has already learned one important life lesson from the Notre Dame family: when people work together toward a common goal, amazing things can happen.

Goldman is one of twelve students (three from each class) receiving the Notre Dame Our Mother Scholarship. Awarded for the first time in 2008, the Notre Dame Our Mother Scholarship has been made possible by the Notre Dame Family.

“It’s just really nice that people care about how finances impact other people,” says Goldman. “Because without the scholarships and grants I received, I wouldn’t have been able to come here.”

Goldman learned about Notre Dame from her high school counselor (Dean Sullivan ’86), who brought her and students to campus for tours and football weekends. She liked the quads, south dining hall, and the campus atmosphere. She also noticed how nice all the people were that she met, and how her counselor was still close with his former classmates.

“I think that is a great part of the Notre Dame experience,” she says, “to have a tight bond with people. And since we are a family we take care of each other—when I need you, you are there for me, and when you need me, I am there for you.”

Which is really what the Notre Dame Our Mother Scholarship is all about.

NDOM Scholarship by the Numbers
  • More than 2,000 alumni, parents, and friends have contributed $463,000 to the Notre Dame Our Mother Scholarship to date.
  • Twelve students were named the inaugural Notre Dame Our Mother Scholars for the 2008-09 academic year.
