Financial Aid

Gifts to the Annual Fund provide millions of dollars in assistance for students each year.
As the economy continues to impact Notre Dame families seeking to pay for their child’s college education, the University’s financial aid resources are being stretched as never before.
- The cost of attending Notre Dame in 2009-10 is a projected $51,300.
- Last year, 80% of students received some form of financial aid.
- Notre Dame awarded $75.5 million in undergraduate scholarships last year; that figure will increase almost 10% for the coming academic year, to over $83 million.
- The average University scholarship award for students entering Notre Dame this fall will be $25,000 — half the cost to attend Notre Dame.
- Fr. Jenkins has announced that the tuition increase for the 2009-10 academic year will be, at 4.4 percent, the lowest percentage increase since 1960. Tuition and fees make up roughly 40 percent of the University’s operating budget each year.
With a goal of $250 million, scholarship funding is the Spirit of Notre Dame campaign’s foremost priority. All contributions to the Annual Fund count as gifts to the campaign.
