Annual Fund Reunion Giving

Reunion Group

What’s so great about Reunion Weekend? Well…everything! And you can make it even better by participating in Reunion Giving.

What is Reunion Giving?

Reunion Giving is a yearlong fundraising campaign that takes place in the months leading up to your reunion. If you’re celebrating a reunion in 2010 and you want to participate in Reunion Giving, all you have to do is make a gift or pledge payment—of any amount and to any area—between July 1, 2009, and June 30, 2010.

Why participate in Reunion Giving?

There are so many reasons to participate in Reunion Giving. Here are just a few:

  • You think changing the life of a student is a pretty good return on investment.
  • You know that alumni giving rates affect college rankings, and a higher ranking will make your Notre Dame degree more valuable.
  • You want to give back to Notre Dame, because Notre Dame has given so much to you.
  • You want your class to win the reunion giving challenge (the class with the highest participation rate will enjoy special recognition at Reunion Weekend).
  • You love Notre Dame.
  • You want your dorm to win the Young Alumni Reunion Dorm Challenge.
  • You want to be eligible for the football ticket lottery (an unrestricted gift of $1,500 or more will increase your odds in the football ticket lottery AND qualify you for membership in the Sorin Society.)

So the real question is, why not participate in Reunion Giving?

Every gift matters. Make yours today.

Class of 1960 Dick Corbett Challenge

In 2010, the Class of 1960 will gather on campus to celebrate their 50th reunion. In honor of this golden milestone, the men of that class—led by reunion committee members Jim Lekin, Bill Killilea, Joe Jansen, Howard Foley, and Terry Keating—are raising funds for the Class of 1960 Scholarship Endowment, which provides support for financially needy undergraduates.

This past winter, classmate Dick Corbett pledged $3 million to kick off a fundraising challenge to fellow 1960 graduates. Any gift made by a 1960 alumnus now through June 30, 2010, will be matched dollar-for-dollar up to $250,000. While gifts to any part of the University will be matched, the entirety of Corbett’s contribution will support the class scholarship, which all class members are being encouraged to support.

Reunion by the Numbers
  • A record-setting 2,700 Domers and their guests attended Reunion 2009.
  • To celebrate their induction into the 50-Year Club, the Class of 1959 contributed a class gift of nearly $26 million.

Annual Giving

“There is one thing that hasn’t changed since I first stepped foot on campus, and that is how much the University depends on your contributions, large and small. There is no such thing as an insignificant gift—every gift to Notre Dame is a great one, as far as I am concerned.”
— Rev. Theodore M. Hesburgh, C.S.C.
